Peripheral Neuropathy is a condition that leads to weakness, numbness, and pain in the hands and feet. The severity can vary from mild discomfort to complete debilitation and sleep loss.

Common causes include:

Alcoholism

Chemotherapy

Diabetes

Trauma

Auto-immune diseases

Medications (Statins such as Lipitor)

Old Age / Idiopathic

Conventional treatments including physical therapy, dietary changes, pain relieving drugs, anticonvulsants, and antidepressants. While these treatments do show some limited success, several of these solutions have negative side-effects.

The good news is that both acupuncture and low-level laser and possibly red-light therapy can significantly reduce peripheral neuropathy.

Studies suggest that acupuncture’s effect of vasodilation will improve blood flow, while it’s anti-inflammatory and pain relieving effects provide huge benefits to improve comfort. ( https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5733739/ )

Low- level-laser therapy and red-light not only reduces pain and decreases inflammation, it is also proven to accelerate repair of damaged nerves. ( https://bmcgeriatr.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s12877-019-1237-5#Sec20 )

This one-two punch combination is a powerful solution to reverse peripheral neuropathy. At our clinic we use a combination of proven acupuncture protocols combined with the strongest low-level laser / red-light therapy devices available to treat this condition.
